Away to Bristol Scouts 14/10/06

‘A’ Team

We lined up with Brandon in goal, Lewis, Ryan and Jacob in defence in midfield we had Owen, Eli and Dan.B with Dan.W and George up front.

1st half

We kick-off the game and after some good early pressure we scored the goal which our start deserved with the Birdman scoring to make it 1-0 to us. The scouts responded straight away forcing us to defend well. Play then became quite even until we won a free-kick which was swung in by Jacob and finished by Owen to make it 2-0. We kept the pressure on the Scouts with wave on wave of attacking which resulted in their keeper making some good saves. We forced the pace of the game even more wining a corner which resulted in George having a good shot saved. A surging run by the Birdman and inch perfect pass into George produced a well worked goal 3-0. Half-time and we look in total control.

2nd half

Both teams started well with good defending from both. The Scouts forced the first corner of the second half but we dealt with it well. The game then turned into a midfield battle with both teams not wanting to give an inch or lose the ball for long. At this point the Scouts attack us with a well worked move and if not for a goal line clearance from Ryan they would have pulled a goal back. This fired us back into life and from a well worked move down the right hand-side Owen scored his second goal of the game to put us 4-0 up. We kept pushing forward looking for more goals with George having a good shot but it went just wide. From a defensive mistake the Birdman swooped into make it 5-0 with his second of the game. Final whistle 5-0 to us and it was good display by all the boys.

‘B’ Team

We lined up with Ellis in goal, Josh, Rhys and Dan in defence in midfield we had Matthew, Dan and Jamie with Callum and Tyler up front.

1st half

The Scouts kick-off the game and put us straight under pressure but Ellis and his defence dealt with it well. We were forcing the Scouts into taking long range shots at us which Ellis was handling well. We started to come into the game more and won a free-kick which Matthew took forcing the keeper into a save. From the goal-kick the Scouts attacked and had a dipping shot from about 16 yards out that our keeper just couldn’t get to. 1-0 to the Scouts. This made us start to play better and forced us to attack them. Tyler was unlucky after a good run and shot to see it saved on the line. Half-time 1-0 to the Scouts.

2nd half

We put pressure on the Scouts straight from the kick-off forcing a early corner which Matthew took. The keeper saved the shot by Callum on the line and we were now making a much better game of it with Tyler having another good run but his shot was saved by the keeper. In a strange game the goal keeping coach was made redundant by Ellis. The Scouts started to give us lots of free-kicks our way but we couldn’t find the net with any of our chances. Full-time 1-0 to the Scouts. The boys played really well but were unlucky to loose.

‘C’ Team

We lined up with Ollie in goal, Harry, Charlie and Thomas in defence are midfield was Ben, Oliver, Kieron and Josh with Lewis and Will up front.

1st half

Scouts kick-off the game and put us under early pressure, from the resulting goal-kick the Scouts gain possession and score to make it 1-0 to them. Straight from the centre the Scouts win the ball back and go on the attack again and score to make it 2-0.  Ollie had no chance with either goal. We just can’t get going and are camped in our own half. From a Scouts corner the big centre half lifts a beauty from 10 yards hitting the roof of the net to make it 3-0 Scouts. With some new faces in the Fry’s side the boys were having trouble getting going but they were all working hard for each other. A rare attack by Fry’s is stopped by some good defending by the Scouts. A very frustrating half for Fry’s but after early setback we are battling hard half-time 3-0 Scouts.

2nd half

Scouts kick-off the second half (the ref had a late night again) and score immediately 4-0. A Fry’s break after a Scouts corner is stopped again by some good Scouts defending. Fry’s put on Ryan (who played in the A’ team game) to help steady the defence, and Fry’s are having a lot more of the ball. But an individual run and shot from the Scouts centre forward resulted in a goal 5-0 Scouts. They continue to put more pressure on us and make it 6-0 just before final whistle. Even though they tried hard Fry’s were over powered by a stronger Scouts side. Final score 6-0.
